I'm not aware of this mod. The boat really isn't intended for a bigger engine size. Someone posted a photo of their SV Nitro upside down on another SV thread.

Installing a 21 in my Super Vee Nitro is not going to happen.

I've got a spare CMB .67 (destined for an 1/8 scale) and a spare OS .81 VR-M (backup engine for my Sprintcat), but I've got enough sense to not be the first one to try installing them in a boat that's too small for them.

Same goes here. I've run the SV27 with the stock engine. While I've still got lots of tuning to do, it's hard to see how even a so-so .21 would lead to anything but an extremely unstable boat. There are diminishing returns when you start overpowering a hull. The handling gets bad and you go from fast and fun to out of control and upside down.

I wouldn't drop a .21 in the boat either as with the stock engine it seems to have more than enough power as it is. This is not the Miss Vegas which can handle more power.
I'm with Jerry and Chuck on this one.

The OS .18 is a popular swap. A number of people on RCU have done the swap with good results.

Sorry to disappoint you but an SV27 couldn't handle a CMB 21.

Guess you haven't seen a good sport 40 race, have you? Or perhaps haven't enjoyed racing riggers side by side at 70+ mph. I have several wild and crazy, fast boats, but have also learned that when you cross the fine line between fast and out of control that the fun factor goes way down.

I've had my quad bypass and an ICD installed but try to keep up with me on the water or the streets. I don't buy a car or truck unless it can do smoky burnouts!
If the boat was 2 inches longer and wider then I'd say that you could put a .21 in it but but as it is, it's a waste of time and money as the boat won't handle it. Even with a hotter .18 it could be more than a handful.

i am not a big expert on boats like ron and some others here,,everyone has to remember its only 27 inches long,,a V hull..if your gonna run on a smooth lake no wind or wake, and can make a long pass befor you have to slow and turn them maybe tru to max it over 40.. from what i have seen high 30's is about the max in "REAL LIFE" drivin,, if ya want to go faster, get a bigger boat... i used to drag race in the 90's there was a saying at the drag strip.. " speed cost money,,, how fast do you want to spend?",, there is my two cents

Big expert?[sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif] No, just from experience with the boat. We're having a helluva time keeping it on the water with the stocker in it. This boat will take some monster props for an .18, some bigger than what I can turn with my .21. My kid put a Prather 220 on it to see if it would crank it, and it did but the bottom and top ends suffered a little but not that much. He even snuck an ABC H-4 on it but it cavitated badly.
