Where do I get this part? K&B 3.5
Hi Guys,
I broke the steering pivot on my K&B 3.5cc outboard and need to get a replacement. Who sells this part? It's the forward half of the "hinge" that attaches the engine, at the pivot, to the adjustable Du-bro or Prather motor mount bracket.
I hit a submerged 6-inch pipe near the shore at them pond, and I was expecting the lower half of the engine to be just smashed off...but somehow at full song it hit perfectly and the endo 2-feet down into the rocky bottom and snapped the engine off clean! The tip of one sponson of the wooden Dumas Sprint hull is mashed a bit. This boat is awesome - I have the fastest (and only) boat on the pond!
Signed,
LUCKY
Pics forthcoming, my camera just ran out of power.
I"ll share some pics of my 18-1/2" piped .15 inboard cat that goes just about as fast as the .21 tunnel in same batch. I'm going to set up a "speed trap" with a couple friends and get some speed estimations.
What do you guys use to take vidios to upload...vidio from my digital camera would be too grainy, wouldn't it?

Let's see what you need. If I have one it's yours.
I've used my digital camera to take silent movies and it doesn't do too bad but recently I picked up an Aiptek camera with sound for around $90.00. It doesn't do too bad for the low price tag. The thing has 4x zoom that you can use while recording, stabilizer, 8MP, MP-3 player and other nice little extras that I haven't played with yet plus a disc for the 'puter that lets you make custom movies or slideshows.

Hi Ron, BB:
The pics are big in file size and they failed to upload...I'll reduce the size of pics tonight. I do appreciate your help! BB- that's some bunch of good looking boat stuff you have there, somebody is having way too much fun. Somebody has got to make this stuff illegal because clearly people have too much fun with RC model boats!

These pics show the small cat that goes like stink once I finished breaking in the new OS .15 engine. Like the hotel shampoo bottle fuel tank? Har har! There's an Octura X-432 on the back end. Do you think an Octura X-434 would be too much? With a higher pitch prop, do you think it would bog in the turns where the '432 doesn't?

The hardened steel pin and the forward half of the pivot at the front of the engine are toast. CHeck the close-up of the engine.
The other photo is just to show what the engine attaches to.

I might be interested in a good-running front rotor K&B .21 to replace the crummy rear-rotor disc K&B .21 that won't get my deep vee out of it's own wake. Unless you have another brand that's better... Nice of you (both) to offer - thank you! We might go ahead and make a deal.

Hi BB - Yes, I'd like the pin and the nose section very much! The rest of the lower end is fine. For the same engine, I might need a new con rod and rear engine gasket...there is a lot of rotational slop when the piston is at top dead center. What are your terms for this transaction?
