Default Best 3.5 Tunnel / Outboard combo

My friend and I are getting back into the tunnel hull scene. A few questions though.....

We have pretty much decided on the Top Speed 2 Hulls but are not so anxious with the rumors of the TS3 ? is it worth the wait ?

Engine wise we used to run the TT outboards and had alright luck with them. IS the OS the best for the money or K&B THanks for the help, we will be mostly competitive running with each other, if that helps!!!

Thanks !!

Not to sure on the status of the TS3.

As far as O.S. vs K&B.

I was able to get a stock K&B to 34mph after quite a bit of adjusting. An O.S. engine hit 37mph on my first run with no adjustments. I'd say the O.S. engine is definitely the best bang for the dollar.

In my opinion, the best Stock or "sport" combo is a HTB260, and a OS engine. We easily run at or over 50 mph with a non piped OS, they are great engines.

For Modified, I would go with a HTB290, and OS or CMB or Rossi engine. All good stuff, the Rossi's require a bit more work to make them go like they should, but they are good engines. Its hard to beat the little OS.

The HTB boats are indeed nice looking boats but both we tend to "rub" a little when racing , I think we will sharpen our skills and knowledge before steeping up to one of the HTB boats. THEY SWEET boats and I sure would like one.

IMO the best bang for buck combo is the TS2 and the OS. I had a TS2 with a TT outboard which I sold. It ran pretty good, just wanted an OS (and a different colour boat). I'll admit I have not run the new boat yet, when I do I'll be able to give an accurite comparo of the two engines but almost everyone that races in sport class uses the OS.
As for the TS3. These things take time. I would be surprised if you see one in a hobby store inside of a year. Once Aquacraft put it on their web site then you can get excited. The TS2 is a fine tunnel.

TS2 was delivered yesterday by the UPS guy and my OS outboard will be here early next week. What is the magical prop for this combo? Thanks

Everyone's setup is different and requires lots of prop testing. For a start you may try something around 40mm, like an X440.

I agree with Ryan, a X440 or M440 should get the cow out of the gate. When you get it a little more dialed, you can experiment with other stuff.

An X437/3 is also another prop to try.
