Default I'm Done

[:@][:@] That's it! I'm Done! The K&B 3.5 outboard is going to have a 12 volt airplane motor mounted in place of that rotten little motor........Thanks for all your help guys. I appreciate. Does anyone want this K&B motor, 'except' for the rear housing?? Maybe we can work a trade. ( I live in B.C., Canada) Jim : (

Jim,

Sorry to see you get frustrated so quickly, we tried to help you with all sorts of advice and asked for pics. unfortunately we don't know if you have tried anything we told you, maybe you did, maybe you got very unlucky and ended up with a lemon for motor.

Do you know if the are any head shims in your motor?
if so, how many?
whats their thickness?

Dan.

If nitro was so easy everyone would be doing it, thats why they make electric for those that cant handle nitro.

If you mean me, I run riggers and a fast electric rigger would be very easy to make. If you cant do 50mph with a sv27 brushless engine in a rigger then something is wrong. I don't play with electric not my cup of tea, I like the sound of an engine not the whine of a motor.

Paul

Ohhhh if the sv27 wouldn't push a rigger to 50mph then there is real problems with the engine to start with. my little sport .12 rigger is just about pushing 50mph and thats a sport engine, a brushless setup would be easy to exceed that.

I am done with this thread it belongs in the electric forum. For one if you know riggers you would know you cant fit a gps in a IMPBA A class rigger , they are too small. I myself will not build a EP rigger ......................... I think its a waste of time in my case ( I like nitro power). Sorta like a coffee drinker being told try tea its good............................. now thats funny lol.

Paul

Sorry I am getting of topic I wont post to this thread again.

I get tired of electric boats, I dont like sitting here charging batteries, then I want another run and cant cause my batteries are spent...I mess around with electric stuff for slow scale stuff, and my brushless micro airboat...but when I want to go fast nitro is the way...plus when the things on the pipe shreddin the lake up its awesome... and I agree go talk to the electric guys...

Cheese is right, GPS wont fit in a class A rigger and might sink if one was strapped to it... But Im not a one sided kinda guy I have built a nitro class A and now an electric 6 cell rigger...I to have moved on to gas and electric and gave nitro the boot...Everyone that stays in Hobby grade RC will find their own place, be it gas, nitro, or electric...

just one thing guys... does it make me a quitter if i am building a twin outboard "ep-1 powered" off the pro fisherman boat.. a true twin outboard pontoon retrievel boat..lol . i am really doing this and will post pics when done. if i can in here.. i did this because i am tired of wading out and chasing my boats when they do not want to cooperate.. but i will never ..ever race electric, had my fill with cars in the 90's , just my 2 pennies.
