OS .21XM piston and sleeve
on average, how many tanks of fuel should I be running through my outboard before I should have to replace my piston and sleeve?

I have two XM, the firts have near 7 years from purchase NIB with the same piston and sleeve, it burning close 20 gallons of 25%nitro rich side setting (beetwen 2 to 1 1/2 turns of NV) since 2005 is coming in 3/4 turn and run great, allways use minimun 16% oil blended and wd40 for maintenace and put a drops of the hidralic transmision oil for store in ZIPLOCK bags when no used it in some weeks. Always used in fresh water.
Some months ago i made a tigth of sleeve (re-sizesing) i dont know how named this procedure there.
I think the long life of engine depend of:
1. Set of HNV rich side.
2. % Nitro and Abuse
3. Oportune maintenance of engine (water is enemy of metal)
4. Continuos work check of water cooling System.
5. Never run it more than 20 seconds out of water.
6. Periodic Bearing check.
It is my experience here in my country
