I currently am building the same boat an plan on putting in a worked ops .45 motor in it. I will have a build thread within a few weeks since Im awaiting all the parts to start assembly. How your hull look? Mine was superior. I have since reinforced the hull for the added stress of such a large motor. I already have detailed pics if youd like to see how I did it or if your on a similair time frame we could start the builds together an compare an contrast out individual outcomes

Hi Golden

Thanks for the reply and thanks for the dual build offer, however I havent received my hull yet(just bought a house and what with xmas coming up this will be a slow build for me. I had heard good things about the SW cat, and after emailing the seller a couple of times Im convinced.
I had thought that hopefully someone had done this before and I was right ! Although the 'big engine in little boat' must of been done lots by now.
and after looking at the aeromarine 29" cats figured a .45 would go in a 30" one and the skunk works looks relatively cheap and seems a good performer.

eagerley awaiting your build thread my friend and the pics too!

Yeah I too was unsure what motor to put in I went back an forth between dual .21s to even considering a cmb .67 but all directions seem to point on putting the maxium engine in there would be a .45. Theres an engine shop over here call twisted liquid racing an their going to port, polish, machine an generally rework a brand new ops motor before I even really begin dropping stuff in. Since the hull is really just the joined halves, no stringers or main railing I have spent some time with some carbon fiber strips (3mm wide .5 thick an now over 6' of the stuff) using my previous building exp (many years in full sized go fasts) made this thing a tank shes super rigid in all the right places an with the carbon an epoxy I only added 20 grams!!! Once the motor an hardware come in I'll actually post the build an itll be off an running in no time! so keep an eye out an maybe by the time your ready I'll have worked out all the kinks in to making that baby a screamer!

Hi Wayne, Glad one of us has the experience then, lol. I do have experience in putting big engines into little french cars though ! [8D]

Think I;ll go for a sport nitro engine from prestwich over here in the UK, your's sounds awesome though I checked out liquid racing
quite recently and they have some great items, but im trying to keep costs down and avoid the import duty...

Have a freind who can get me cheap CF wich is nice.
, ohhww baby looking forward to that screamer!

Sam.
