Default need some info

hi guys, i'm not sure what this is, or let alone how to tune it. it's used and running rough, it's a friends and i would like to help him out. so any info about this motor or how to tune it would be great.i don't have another pic of the carb, he says it only has a butter fly and no lsn, looks like in the pic, i see a remote hsn. so any inf would be helpful, thanks guys

thats an OPS 90, some of the high performance engines dont have low speed needle as is the case on my CMB .45....I had to get used to tuning this setup too when I first got the boat..the needle has to be tuned to run right on the top end(at WOT) so put it in the water, if it runs fine but falls off when you go to WOT then its lean and richen it up, if its bogging and wont clear out then its rich and then you gotta lean it out a bit...so if its lean it runs good till you get higher in the throttle, rich it will never clear out...thats as simple as I can right it down...its kinda hard to put on paper...much easier to explain in person or to show someone...but I hope that helped some...

ok guys, i got to play with the boat. and it has a bad remote needle valve. i got the motor to run ok, but the valve is old. would this be an ok replacement http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDG58&P=7

Maybe a bit small on the fittings, an os would have better flow, you may be able to use larger fittings on that perry tho.

I have one from an OS LA .40 on my CMB .45 and it works like a champ....no issues aat all so far...

Tower has one for a os 9b carb that should work nicely.
