i'd say get the ops, it has more power and it has higher rpm's. so it should make the boat go the fastest

Hammer hull is too small for a 21.

I would think it could handle a .21 but the OPS engine is worth more then the boat so Id say the O.S. .21 would work well, a .21 isnt really a whole lot larger then a small block, may be a little overpowered but Id rather have more power then less...if not though go with an .18 and get it modded, maybe you could find a used aquacraft .18 for cheap, and I believe O.S. had a hand in that engine...

Of the three engines you're looking at, only the .18 is available.

I will be getting the engine locally. And if i use a .21... 4 1x1 trim tabs and a 3 1/2 inch rudder plus a surface drive... It will work.

I hope...

Oh yah and all of those engines are worth more than the stock ep boat it is now. The hardware will probably be worth more than it too.

I fitted an OS .18 to my hammer. I never got it much passed run in before I decided to retire the boat and pull the running gear for another project. The biggest problem I found was the standard header pipe does not fit.
IMO a .21 is a waste of time in a hammer.

Ok i have a crazy idea but it might work p.s. the hull IS fiberglass. i was trhinking of putting two outriggers on the sides of this boat for added stability. oh and im running this on the dead flat brackish (salt and freshwater mixed) river a street away from my house no one boats on this section for it is too shallow i run my mod llumar out there it works swell so stability is not a huge issue .21 IT IS!!! well uhh... possibly BUT I THINK SO!!!!!!

the nitro hammer is fiberglass, which is a little better at least....I am seeing this going the way of my first nitro boat which was the nitro vee I modded and made a dun reliable boat out of it, but I was still chasing 30mph, when I look back on that if I had put the money tword something else it would have been better spent...I sold it and now have my youngblood 45 that does 50mph...although I want to get rid of that and get a hydro or tunnel to go even faster...

I was thinking of using a nitro-vee or ex hull but i want fiberglass but i may have to compromise. Things right now suck i had to sell nearly 17/18 of all my rc stuff i hit a real financial hole... so this a really budgeted project. I now have a fiberglass hammer ep and an avenger cat with a .90 so i might just have to go with some other hull. any suggestions?
