Are Go Engines good?
Suring ebay, I found this engine:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GO-Engine-18-...QQcmdZViewItem
The specs seem a bit unrealistic to me
But it's about half the price of a OS 18 CVRM engine, which on paper has less power/rpm
What are peoples opinions?

RE: Are Go Engines good?
The team infinity motors are slow and have a really tight pinch so break (the cheap) pull starters when new. Heard good things about go engines in cars, but never knew that they made marine engines.

RE: Are Go Engines good?
I'm looking on getting the go.25 marine motor, there 85 dollars. The team motors are junk!! And they must be too.The guys who's sells the arrow sharks, mini coopers used to have team motors and now they have the Go motors. I was told the Go motors have way more power then the team would ever have.[link]http://cgi.ebay.com/31-Arrow-Shark-Mini-Cooper-25-Class-4-16cc-Modified_W0QQitemZ160189031092QQihZ006QQcategoryZ1 9166QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem[/link]

RE: Are Go Engines good?
Well with delivery the OS is 200USD
The Go is only about 80USD
So quite a difference also considering I'd only ever get probably about 5 uses a year from the boat (summer only, and at the beach)
The specs on the GO are better though, more power, more rpm
How accurate that is though I don't know...

RE: Are Go Engines good?
I don't really use the boat to be honest
But it's just a bit too slow for me the way it is
And I can warrant 200USD for something I don't use
I might see if I start using it any more now, and then depending on that upgrade motors or maybe even boat
I am looking at the Traxxas boat with the return to shore function
Though I also want a boat that can accomodate a big motor (28 or something)
My theory is (I can be wrong) that a small boat, with a big engine, even a cheap one, will still go hard

RE: Are Go Engines good?
100% incorrect. They are fast and very reliable.. I race one in an 1/8 off road buggy.. Japanese quality. No taiwann or Chinese built engines..

RE: Are Go Engines good?
The .15 and .18 are slow. The .21 and .28 are much better however. I have an .18, and it is reliable, but slow and was a b**ch to break in.

RE: Are Go Engines good?
The Go engine is a OK engine for the price, but if you plan on racing, dont count on beating guys with OS or other well known engine companies. I agree with unclecrash "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" and the specs they show, In my opinion are bull and full of crap. Also if something breaks where are you gonna get parts? As for the Team Infinity, dont bother, its junk.
Save a few more dollars and get a proven winner O.S. awesome motor and parts are easy to get

RE: Are Go Engines good?
The OS .18cvr is better than the Aquacraft .18. If you took both the OS and the Aquacraft and put them side by side you would see a difference in quality, for example the OS 18cvr has a bigger carb. and crankshaft and ultimately has more horsepower, but the Aquacraft is still a better engine then the Go tech and the Infinity, at my local club there are guys that have there Aquacraft 18s tuned awesome and hold there own against the OS even beat it sometimes. For the price you cant beat the Aquacraft which again is made by OS.
The choice is ultimately yours to make, but the Aquacraft seems to fit your price range and will be more than enough power for your application, and in my opinion a lot more reliable than the others.

RE: Are Go Engines good?
I got a SG with side carb in my miss vegas and it works. There some guys who's runs car motor in there boats mostly rigger's and some mono's.You can find a rotto carb for it.It's not hard to find. The crank,I cut off the none threaded part of it off.Plus you need a skinner flywheel for it to.O.S,I think I saw on some threads said O.S will fit. Both motors pics are thundertigers .21pro's BX's with SG crank and side carb's. One in my vegas was the first gen,and I ran the side carb on my boat.and the other is a friend' JWmods has the new EVO thundertiger.21 pro.He put a rotto carb, cut the crank plus as it looks he used the O.S flywheel too.Plus custom made head&water botton and did some motor mods to realy make that baby scream!! I just showed these motors to show you that it can be done.[8D]

RE: Are Go Engines good?
The ebay link is to a .28 motor where as my boat takes a 12-18
I wouldn't mind fitting a 28 as the way I thought of it was a cheap 28 would still make more torque than a good 18, and even if it doesn't rev much I can compensate with a bigger prop
But I don't know how much work there is to make it fit? In fact I wouldn't know where to start (besides looking for engine mounts)
I think ultimately I will just run the 15CVRM in the boat (as I mentioned, I have a 15CVR-X, which I will buy a water cooled head for, and then just buy a 18CVR-X for my car)
