Default Plastic prop needed for Kyosho GT Viper

Gentlemen; I am looking for a plastic propellor for my grandson's Kyosho Nitro Viper GT-16. He got it used from a friend (for free) and it needs a new prop. The chewed up one on it is brown plastic with the name Octura and a number that is difficult to read, looks like it could be 1435. The specs on this boat that I found on the Internet shows the prop to be 35mm x 1.4 and it is Left hand with a 3/16" bore using a drive dog. I am near Detroit; anyone know where I may pick up a couple of these? Thanks guys, Karl

you can get pretty much any brand prop to work on it with a 3/16 bore . check the links below......just make sure you get the right diameter and pitch ! The prop you have should be a x435 I think

Hey PT, there is a place on ebay that I have ordered props from before. It is in Hong Kong...so shipping is a little slow. But, they have the best selection of props I have seen (especially when it comes to plastic ones). [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/100-NEW-1435-PLASTIC-GLASS-FILLED-PROPELLER-RC-BOAT_W0QQitemZ160009808383QQihZ006QQcategoryZ34058 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]Click here to see the prop you are asking for.[/link]

When I first came back to boating, I ordered a bunch of plastic props to get an idea of which prop to get. I think the plastic props are good for that (getting you in the ball park). Then a metal one would be a good replacement. Anyhow, if you order some of the props, get a few of them. I have broken the blade off a plastic prop while running before.

It's probably an X-435. I don't know of many hobby shops in the Detroit area that carry boat parts but there should be some. The ones that I've been to catered mostly to the car and plane crowd. If you have a Rider's Hobby Shop in the area ask them. The only other one anywhere near you that I know carries boat stuff is in Saginaw.

Without reading the hub size he was looking for, I would have guessed on an X435 too, but doesnt the X435 have a 1/8th inch hub??

If it's an older one, they used the smaller prop shaft. I remember on one that I worked on that used the small diameter shaft and had to use a piece of brass tubing between the shaft and prop to use a X-437.

This is PT-109; thanks guys for your input. Yup, this prop shaft does have a bushing so the Octura prop fits the smaller boat shaft. We have plenty of winter left here in Detroit, so I time to find a prop for the grandson. Thanks again, Karl, PT-109 (Dumas)
