Planning on taking it to the real unlimited hydro race in madison this year to show it off and have the driver sighn the bottom of my hydro. Oh guys question for you? I saw a pic on this sight or INTLWATER of a table with alot of unlimited hydro modles, about 1/24 scale?

Who makes them and where can I get one at??[&:] Plus what prop to run on this?Remember that this boat has the vegas, rudder, flex shaft and adjustable strut.

Ok,I had to repaint the silver shark.I was told that the silver that I had on it was to dark. Now I'd repainted it. I did find out that paint code on it,But is IMORON only!!! It's 04 freight linner pewter silver plus there 5 pewters on that freight linner DUPONT has no coversion to croma base! Plus I'm not going to send that much money on a toy boat. Now if it was a scale then I would.Let me know what you guys think? I'll keep it taped up for now until I hear from you guys on this color. It has a pewter cast to it.[8D]

Hey Misshydro,

Boat looks real good. Do you usually use Cromabase paint? I have to paint a scale hull this spring and was looking for an alternative to Imron. I priced the Imron paint / activator and was shocked at how much it costs. Take care,

Scott

Nomaly I use NAPA's Martinsenior cross fire paint system. At times I've use DUPONT cromabase and nason paints. But this boat on the colors are spayed painted in Dupli-color and I'll clear it with automotive clear that you use a spaygun with. That would be the crossfire highpreformance clear.[8D]

Hey Misshydro,

Thanks for the info. I haven't tried the NAPA paint yet, but I might look into it. I've heard it's a good bit cheaper than the Dupont products too. Take care,

Scott

Much better, though it's still a little dark. I'd like to see it with a coat of clear to see the finished product, but all in all, I'd say go with it. As you said, it's not a scale boat so................................................

Ok I struck out on that 1/32 pinstripe tape! I'd tried to paint it but it blead threw the line line tape! So I just try the 1/16 tape around the cowl and shark. What do you guys think of it??? I'd only done one side of the boat. Oh what do you think of the white windows?Should I keep it white Or go dark on the windows? I'm trying to keep the black outline around the windows, where you can see it. I'm one step closer to get it cleared. All I need to do is get the decials made and put on it to clear it and put back together!!

Ok I got the blackstripes around the cowl and shark done plus the shark gills too. I'll was told to didtch the white window. So I might do it in dark gray metalic. I posted a quick sceatch/drawing with measurments so graphic guys can see it and give me quotes on making the decials for it.

Looks good, where are you getting the decals from? my brother-in-law wants to paint his Proboat In the Oberto colors but is still trying to find decals, he has even called Oberto headquarters to get some, but they dont seem to have any either.

the Oberto plant won't have the decals as they are just the sponsoring company. I'm sure there are several decal or qraphics shops that will have them

Yeah I know of a couple places that do the decals in the Oberto but they want at least $100[] I can see dropping $100 for a 1/8 scale, but not for a proboat

all the decals i put on my 57 apache gasser I endded up drawing up in photoshop and illustrator. 1. because they were custom and 2. i couldnt find a cigarete racing team logo high enough resolution for print. i work full time as a graphic artist for Shoremaster. if you like, email me at [email protected] mabe we could work something out. I bet i could pretty closely reproduce those decals for you.

I got three quotes the highest was a guy on INTL wanted 120!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That nuts!!! The two other guys are 25 and 35 dollars to do them, but there backloged with three weeks of work. I'm going to another one tomarrow to see how much would he charge me. He's done my blue angel lettering work/decials for 18.00. I'll see? just dissapointed that alot of shops are backedloged for two-three week of work. Hay firelite how much would you charge me to do my boat?

I think they are backlogged, because they are undercutting themselves. I have paid $30+ for far less work than it will take to do your whole boat with those graphics...

If it takes him 4 or 5 hours just to lay it all out in the software, at the right size, he is not really making any money off the equipment (vinyl plotter) he had to purchase to be able to do vinyl grahics.
