have you put a good prop on it yet? So far the grim racer 40 by 52 3 blade makes mine fly. right now don't think i want anything stronger on the sv.

I wouldn't go swapping a faster engine into it myself, maybe the OS .18 at the most. Mine is on the edge of control as it is with the stock one.

Just to make sure, yours came with the OS 18 and not the Aqub 18 made by OS, correct?

what prop are you running now?

The problem is not what you can or cannot handle, I'm sure you can handle a much faster boat but its what the boat can handle for power.

you could always try a TZ or a .21 if you want but the boat may not handle it.

The water cooling jacket on the Aqub is grey (silver) and on the OS it is Black.

The Carburator on the OS is bigger than the Aqub 18, the internals of the OS are different and not interchangeable with the Aqub.

the OS also puts out more HP than the Aqub giving you the ability to run a wider variety of props.

MSUPERVEE.... dont know about how a .21 would be in your boat - maybe someone will chime in who has tried that conversion.... MISSHYDRO put a .21 in a Proboat designed for a .15 and to use her description, "I cant run over 1/2 throttle, at 3/4 she'll blown off the water" - paraphrase actually but that was the result (and she is happy w/that).

As for a pipe, the .18 is kind of in limbo: CMDI offers a Mac 2.5 pipe which was intended for .12's primarily (though I have one one a .15) and then they offer a 3.5 pipe designed for .21's - your in the middle. Again, maybe someone can chime in who has tried both pipes on a .18 - or you can spend the $$$ and try both for yourself.

I believe that the guy's have had better results with the Mac 3.5 pipe.

there is also a new cooper pipe made for the .15 to .21 but designed for the .18 engine, you may find it a bit pricey (some do and some don't).

mssupervee,
On the pipe for your boat I'm running a macs 3.5 pipe with a Go Engine .18 and tlr header running 30% nitro and it hauls. The pipe is loud but that's fine with me. Its currently running in my mv after pulling it out of my blackjack. I to am considering buying a .21 engine to stuff in my boat.

PCG33K:

There is a guy at IW named GUPPY who went to a .21 on a Miss Vegas, and he even posted video of it running. It ran fast, BUT he HAD added wood to the bottom of his sponsons - looked like as much as 1/4"-1/2" thick (which adds some upfront weight I'm sure) that ran the length of the sponson but was only 2/3 as wide as the factory sponson and was lined up along the outside edge of the sponson. To accomodate the front curve of the factory sponson, he used 2 pieces of wood on each sponson - a "toe" if you would and then the flat bottom and they met at an angle.

I'm hoping I don't have to change the flex shaft to fit the .21 in her. I really like those Go Engines mine has been very dependable and fast.

Hey there....read the last two pages or so from the SV27 Nitro thread, pages 43 and 44. My build up for the sv is out there, every detail....the go .18, 50% odonnels, really makes her a blast, and I'm just getting broken in still....I can feel it though, it will be a 40-50mph boat. For handling, there are tricks you can do like add lead weights, lower the rudder, etc....If you just got the SV, I would take the time and read all the way through that forum and take notes in MS Word and save them...everybody's known problems/solutions are out there and there is a whole lot of good info on making this boat a reliable screamer. My go .18 rear exhaust conversion is detailed on the last 2 pages..hope this helps...later, William
