Default Dumas Circus Circus running gear

Hello I am nearing completion of my Dumas Circus Circus and now am ready to start prefitting running hardware. Everyone I spoke to says dont buy the Dumas running gear but to look at Speedmaster hardware or Octura? I hope someone on here has some experience with this boat, and can lead me in the right direction for some good running gear that will work well, and where to buy. Also what size flex shaft is best .187 or 1/4 size?

THanks

Thanks F16man, I also would like opinions of engines for this boat, after talking to a few 1/8 scale guys they all point to OPS .67, but what about CMB, MAC, K&B and Picco engines, I want a engine that is going be on the easier side of tuning. From what Ive seen K&B will be cheapest, but I no experience with the .67 K&b only there outboards and they can be a pain to tune.

Hey Kyle,

OPS is no longer being sold (not sure of company status) CMB is going to run you about $450 or more, MAC is on par with that price but I believe availability is better with the MAC. You can purchase them here http://www.cmdracing.com/updated/engines.htm I don't know about K&B .67 but I have heard they are durable, reliable engines for the price. Hope this helps,

Scott
