Is this good?
I have a old school pickle for tommy lee hull with a k&b 7.5 engine in it.
I am trying to tune it and i need help.
How hot should the cooling head get? Another thing i noticed was that my carburetor was cold is this good?
Yes i was running it out of water but with water running to the pickup.

RE: Is this good?
Head temps for a water cooled 7.5 should be in the 150 - 175 range. The carb should feel cool since there's fuel and air running through it.

if fuel is shooting out the front of the carb its probably too rich. maybe a tiny bit running out the exhaust, but it should just be smokey. again, nothing should be coming out the front of the carb for any reason.

Ya there is fuel spraying out ofthe carb and the exhaust. The little angled rod is the high end needle while the flat head bolt on the other side is the low end. Correct?

because if you tune it on the bench there is no load on the prop, it will sound good and you may think its running well but that it a false impression.
Once you put the boat in the water the engine will die, since that now there was a load on the prop the engine is now starving for fuel (too lean).
