Default Identifying tunnel hull

I have someone who wants me to buy their boat, it is a 7.5cc tunnel hull with a K&B outboard, The only really distinguishing things on the boat are the cockpit. Most tunnels I've seen have a cowled in cockpit, this has a drivers head poking up out of the deck. The guy wants $200 for it, It has one servo, some minor stress cracks around the cowling, and some damage that was shodily repaired under the middle hull nose. The outboard seems to have a little stick around top dead center without the glow plug on, is this usual for this engine or is it indicative of some problem? I will post pics as soon as I can.

Default RE: Identifying tunnel hull

It sounds like a Prather Lap Cat 2 but without photos this can not be confimed.

You will feel some resistance as the piston pushes through TDC. IMO The pinch indicates an engine in good condition with good compression. When the engine reaches operating temps, the cylinder expands and the pinch is less noticeable after the engine has been heated.

I t does look similar to that, but I think that the center hull continues further formard than the lap cat 2, also, the depression in the cowling behind the cockpit is much greater. I'm working on pics, having some problems with the computer and camera.
Thanks for the help!
Kurt
