Thundercat losing power at high speed
I recently switched from 20% ODonnells fuel to 30% in my Thundercat 31. I also removed one of the head shims after it was broken in. When I'm running the boat at lower speeds it seems fine but when I give it more throttle it bogs down or slows down. I adjusted the carb to make it run more rich for the higher Nitro content. Does it bog down because the high speed needle is still to lean or is it maybe because the prop needs to be lowered to grab more water?

the thundercat comes with copper shims and one aluminum shim you can remove the copper shims as you break it in but leave the aluminum shim in place.

yeah it sounds like it is too lean, it will run good when its dead cold , or at low speed, richen it up more, try 1/4 to 1/2 to start then tune from there. how much did you richen it the last time ?

Lowering the strut will only load you engine more and cause it to bog more. What prop are you running..Also check your glow plug if you dont know how to read it just replace it.. try a 9plug Mcoy mc9 or odonnel 9 sport plug. warning odonnel plugs are way expensive.. And turn it three turns out and start over tuning..
