RE: blackjack 26 takes on water? not any more!
What we found is a minor design problem. The new aluminum strut has a small gap between the transom and the front edge of the strut (between the strut brackets). When we ran the boat we kept seeing a small stream shooting up behind the transom. Looks cool but...That little stream catches on the lip (for lifting the cowl) at the back edge of the cowl and will fill the boat with water. We stuffed a small piece of the foam we used for flotation into the gap (between the strut and transom) and had no further problem. During the rest of the day we never had more than a few tablespoons of water in the boat.

Interesting, I've got the old blackjack which Im turning into the SS, I should get the rest of the parts today. I'll have to look out for that, although I have the old hatch cover so probably wont have the same problem.
