This is Russ Williamsons Miss Vegas.. Jerry Dunlap did the mods to have the O.S.21 turbo in it.. If I remember wright they used a speed master motor mount in it.. Heres acouple of pics to help you see it and maybe help you set it up..As you can see he also made/added new wooden stingers for the motormounts to bolt into.. Now on my Miss Vegas I'd made mine out of alumplate.Still ran the stock wooden mounts thats in it.Just made a moded motor mountplates. But I think for next year I might do mine up like Russ's..

You really should run some stringers epoxy glassed in , first get the speed master 21 hydro mount and some good 1/4" aircraft plywood stringers and bolt the motor mount and engine up to the stringers to trial fit. Then once you get it all lined up you can epoxy them in and then put a layer of fiberglass cloth over the stringers,[ make sure to sand the hull where the glue is going and clean real good with alcohol].

They went the full length and that sould be real strong.

I used a Speed Master 3.5 motor mount. New plywood stringers were epoxied into the hull. 3/16"(.187) flex cable was used and the front of the cowling cut to allow a larger fuel tank. A whole lot easier modification is to install an O.S. TZ 18 and wrap the air cooled head with soft brass tubing for cooling. My O.S. 18 TZ/Miss Vegas has hit 48 on the radar gun and that engine drops right into the existing motor mounts.

just my opinion but ive seen these boats with the .21 in it and with or without sponson mods these boats start sponson walking from side to side down the straight away and then do a violent crash so my fastest vegas i have has a os .18 cvrm and no sponson mods and its a good fun boat and reliable and with the right prop you dont need a .21 engine my stock vegas with my race prop will run with any modded vegas out there.so stick with an .18 engine and save yourself the headache i have videos of some vegas boat running on youtube watch them socco1972 is my name there richs boat has the vzm in it some with tz's and some cvrm and some stock engine enjoy and goodluck with your build.

Well Grim said the Miss vegas is good for sport20 too.. Now look at my pic of my sport20 I'd just got.PS it will get a new paint job on it!..with a vegas cowl on it..just seeing how it looks. Its a Dave Frank hull.. It looks like a the vegas hull, but its only 1"wider but its the same lenght...the other pic if my vegas.the hulls looks the same but my sport20 has the sponsons mods.. Now the vegas sponson mods looks like the ones are on my sport20 hull.

i don't think putting a 20 in a vegas is worth it. yes they can do it but, the effort it takes to make one run like a whiplash or pt i mean if your going to spend the money on a good 20 motor spend the money on a good 20 hull, and miss before you jump on me i know it "can" be done, this is just my thoughts on it!

sorry miss couldn't not say anything lol

I think it was a pretty easy swap with the .21 VZM when i did it. I even used the stock motor mounts and wooden blocks and bolted it right in. She was very stable too but not extremly fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czsSxGYVvBk

that boat wasnt slow.. Russ Williamsons Vegas goes 50+ from what I was told... As for buying a sport20 hulls. just get ready to drop 275 plus shipping for some...whips are 100 plus 35-40 more for the cowls plus shipping. Then you have to put that together. Now Jerry said what he said because if your not a fab type person or dont know how to mod stuff ,he doesnt reconmend it to the novist. Just tose in a hot.18 and a better tune pipe plus upgrade prop and your done..For the ones who can do mods like Me. I'd just made custom motor mounts put bigger fuel tank and tune pipe changes..I ran my stock .150 cable without any proublems yet so far.. you can run a .187 cable with stock tube but you take out the teflon liner out..If the vegas wasnt a possible sport20 Grim would strongly reconmend not using the vegas..

Ive always run the .150 cable and never had an issue even with the 442 props i use. I did try the .187 with no liner and it made a nasty black grease mess. I thought mabe it was wearing the brass tube out. And remember....everyone will bash this but i always liked using Miss Vegas hulls because you can buy bare hulls cheap on ebay. I have wrecked 4 boats in a 3 year period... hit a couple things, loss of radio...thats always a good time LOL and crashed one real hard and only spent $350.00 on all of them and there already painted! Plus now that ive gone electric and in the low 60mph zone and crashing like a champ im sure i will need more. Cheap is good.

I might as well jump into the mix......I have MV's and have both a modded TZ18 in one and a VZM in the other.....
the TZ runs like a champ....the VZM needs some revamping.
