Default Coating the inside of your hull

Hello-

I have been looking for an old post where I saw a few people mention a specific product or products for coating the inside of hulls to protect the wood and fiberglass from fuel etc. I have in the past used epoxy thinned down with alcohol, which seems to work well enough, but... If there is a better way, or easier way, I am all for it. I have a new hull and a couple older ones I purchased used that I would like to clean up and coat but I can't find the old posts/threads that had the suggestions so... Any ideas?

Thanks
Prosnias

Any slow setting epoxy will work. On bare wood, heat the epoxy or thin it with denatured alcohol and brush it in. Acid brushes work well. 2 to 3 coats should seal the wood. On epoxy or polyester hulls, sand the interior with 60 grit sand paper, wipe it down with alcohol and then brush in the epoxy. My preference has always been West Systems.

Thanks for the replies, sounds as if Thinned Epoxy is the way to go.. I am curious as to where you are getting the large bottles of epoxy?

Happy Hunting,

Your local marine shop should have some on the shelf. Otherwise a fiberglass wholesaler/retailer.
