Does anybody know about what the range is from the Tactic 2.4ghz radio controller?

Radio ranges can be affected by several factors, starting with water reflection and line of site. Taking that into consideration, most of the surface radios have a reliable range of between .25 and .5 mile. That being said, your best option would be to do a range test on your boating site and see how far your boat's receiver can pick up the signal. Take out the Jetski and have someone watch the boat. Intermittently operate the controls and see how far out the boat responds.

Most radio systems are only good for 1/4-mile under good conditions. 1/2-mile would really be pushing it.

And I fully agree, Ron. .5 would be really pushing it but, at the same time, some radios can reach that far. Pretty much all of the modern radio sets can achieve .25, even the cheap ones. That is why I said to range test the system in his boat so he can have a good idea how far out he can safely go

It might reach my friends dock,it'll be close,me and my brother will check it,one on our dock and one ride the jet ski with the boat and keep turning the rudder off and on til it stops to check how far out it is!

The range does not matter because it is farther than you could see your boat + why would you want to run it so far away , you might crash into something you cannot see

Well I've been thinking of putting an fpv cam linked to a monitor, but I can extend range if I needed, but that's something I will use on my helicopter also
