RE: blackjack26ss .18 engine swap
You can put the motor in it but, you will have problems with the cover, new mounts, header, pipe and, drive cable will all need to be changed also another prop . also the extra weight of the motor will upset the balance of the boat. not sure which model 26 your refering to(OLD OR NEW SS) but the new GO-TECH .18 is a power house out of the box. it can be taken even further with a reputable shop doin the mods. Ive heard of speeds of 47mph using a modded .18(NOT NECCESARILY THE GO-TECH) in a black jack. anymore and, they tend to want to flip over on you. You may not get the same speed, as it takes more than just the power to obtain that speed but, youll have a blast with it. Get a TC-31 if you want big block power, you'll thank your self for it later.

You may want to check out this video this guy was able to squeeze a tc31 engine into the blackjack 26. Looks like its running pretty fast as well as looking right at home.

Actually if you look in the video you can see how much of the rear is flat in the water. again, the weight put more of the rear in the water which slows you down considerably. Also consider that the boat has its handleing issues . adding more weight is not gonna help that at all. you should be able to get around 33-34 mph with a stock bj26ss. the prop is a good choice with the stock motor you have in it. the stock dynamite is not a very strong motor. neither is the .32 that came in the TC-31. There cheap motors designed to keep the price of the boat down. Stay with a good strong .18 and youlll enjoy your boat. if a big block in a black jack was a good idea why dont we see it everywhere? who has one on this forum? Hmmmmmm . dont see any . oh well. have fun whatever you do.
