Rod Garaghty set my head clearance at .08.. running on 50% and running with a mod 1440 mark shoud prop..getting high 50s and a 937/3 getting low to mid 60s..got to get a gun reading on it. this is with a axe rossi cobra moded car engine. Joseywales got my boat setup to launch easy..did try a back cut 437/3 and that shot off like a shot gun. Joe got another very light weight .12 to try out... going to put the nova 5 port in it and hope to try it out this weekend.Oh was told these engine loves to run on 65%..going to get a gal of that to run in my rigger.

Why do you need to spend the cash on 65% when I was able to run my boat on it's maiden cruise on 30% heli fuel? The way I see it, 30% is much less expensive for use on break in runs

Her engine has quite a few runs on it already. I'm bringing some 65% down for them when I go to Celina in the fall to try.
Yeah, blame me and my oven-roasted brain.

These little engine love 65%.. More nitro =more faster speeds. plus it helps when you got friends, that can get it for a steal of a deal...We got a friend in fortwayne runs 80% on his.21's..

lol....my engine was ran on 1 quart of 40% o donalds and 3/4 of a gal on Dave Roach home bru 50% fuel.. so to say my engine is broken in...65% would be very interesting to see it run...Even the .21 guys are running on 65% at the races.

The only thing about 65% is hte weather. As hot as it is here right now, you're better off with the lower stuff otherwise the needle is a bear to set. One click can make the difference between rich and lean. September or early in the year when it's much cooler is the best time to "tip the can", Drag racer talk for upping the nitro..
I might have to dig out a bottle of 45% for this weekend.

And to think, I'm sitting here in the Puget Sound basin with a high today of around 60 and cloudy. Won't hit 70 until Friday so I can run anything I want and not have to worry about it affecting the needle settings

It's 79 here right now and we're supposed to see 99 or higher by Friday. Inside the paper mill is stiflingly hot, I've been taking my digital infrared thermometer to work with me and in a cool area and it was 98. Up by one of the paper machines it's in the triple-digits.

Almost forgot, we've been having scattered rain showers for the past week as well so we have reservoirs that are almost to the point of overflowing not to mention ski areas that finally closed for the season this past Sunday afternoon

Well I've had a few trials and tribulations with my boat, the worst of which was a bad switch and my boat hitting the rocks at a good clip. But damage was pretty minimal and she was all repaired for round three on Sunday.
On the first launch she took off like a rocket now I see what the fuss is about what a blast. Next race she goes in with the .21's.
I'm running the Texan pipe at 2 1/2" and Mark's M440 (the 1440 got mangled in the crash) 50% nitro at 4000'.
All day I had been clocking other people's boats but of course no one shot mine, next time.

Tombsy, we don't have a class in Elmira. Yet I run mine in the .21 class and the open hydro. My .21 was down so I ran the .12 rigger She did get lapped in the open class .I held lane 1 all threw the race.
I love running the .12 I'll keep racing her in hopes next year we will have a class to run in. Craig [blackout] just got a kit from Joe over the weekend..Ive been giving the transmitter to my buddies ,maybe they will get the fever. only good drivers she is a blast to run. You get good speed for a $ bargain.

Did'nt race my .12 this year,do to our orginal race got canceled do to too much rain. our club puts that on, we had .12 class too... don't like the idea racing against a.21..anytime your race against the next class up is like bringing a shotgun to a BB gun fight... not very fair..

At the Hobart Masters race the week of Labor Day they will have a .12 'rigger class and already have a lot of entries and this plans on being a regular thing there with the "Size Matters" traveling trophy.
For those of you who don't know what that is, you have to race a .12 'rigger and any other size of 'rigger either by yourself or as a team. Total points for both classes give you a shot for the trophy.
www.metimeliverc.com is doing a webcast at the race so you can watch it live.

Your right Missy on the BB gun. Boy wouldn't been a blast if the big guy stalled. I've seen crazier thinks happen in a race. My .21 was done in with problems. Like that hole in the block. I've added armory in a .67 rigger. I ran over his wake with a 1/4 lap to the finish. Yup -she flipped. I did get 5 3/4 laps in. I've blew away a .21 tunnel in Ottawa. This is the last season for that hull. I've got screws slipping. On the mount and on the servo straps. Ive done the CA trick already. 2 nd year on her.

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere on this thread, but I'm lazy...

Would the O.S. 18CV-RX ABC w/11J Rotary Carb be a good engine for the JAE 12? I think I might want a pull start engine. That way it's one boat I can take out back to run without bringing a starter and battery.

I kinda was hoping to run a A-hydro legal engine, but I don't think there are any good ones available with pull starts.

Thanks.

I'm not sure on the RULES. but a .18 OS why not. It's your pond. We can make our own class. .12-18 .Prop said He's READY for his .12 on Thursday. I have this .18 Go that's setting collecting dust. Mike TT sold me a .18 GO front exhaust. But I use the piston stop that came with the engine. I don't know how I lived without it. Amax loved his side exhaust.

Rod G told joe thaT and also sudjested joe to run the 3.3..said that motor has alot protenals to run in the jae's..Joe got one 3.3 from toyotatrucking....

Nope, .18 is technically illegal for A-Hydro. Listed below are the specifications directly from the IMPBA rule book.

Class Cubic Inch Displacement Metric Class
A 0.000 thru 0.129 2.1 CC
B 0.130 thru 0.219 3.5 CC
C 0.220 thru 0.300 4.9 CC
D 0.301 thru 0.458 7.5 CC
E 0.459 thru 0.670 11.0 CC
F 0.671 thru 1.830 30.0 CC

What about a twin .18 ???? what class is that?? open rigger. one question on a twin. How do you reverse the rotation on one engine. Or do the both run the same? I know how to do a large engine.

On glen's /nova rossi usa ,his twin.12 spin the same direction.,counter clockwise. with the same props...thats what he told joe on the phone.if that true blackout..then .18 should be in the sport.20 class too.
