Default Rossi 65 ABC engine help.

hey every one, im the new guy here, and im also new to nitro boats. i got this 39" boat off of kijij for fifty dollars about 3 months ago. becuase it had been sitting un used for about 10 years i went completly through it, i tore down the engine becuase it was seized due to some very old varnished nitro fuel. i replaced all the fuel and water lines, replaced the flex shaft, inspected the engine bearings which turned out to be fine, and gave the boat a well needed paint job. (when i got the boat someone had brush painted it with a very thick yellow marine paint) the engine is a rossi 65. i tried starting it the other day with no luck, there was no fuel reaching the carb. probably due to a kinked fuel line a found afterwards, also this boat has a second needle valve added on the boat shell. i assumed it was there becuase the positioning of the engine in the boat makes it extremely hard to adjust the valve on the carb. becuse of this, i assumed i should open the valve on the engine to full and then do the actual adjusments with second needle valve. as for the proper nitro percentage i know i need to have 2 head shims in place in order to run 15% nitro, before finding this out i went ahead and bought 20% nitro, should this be okay? lastly, just after my first attempt of starting the boat the engine started to make a clicking sound near the bottem of its stroke, but it only makes the noise when its turned over counter clockwise. what could be the issue there? thanks in advance.
*the attached photo was taken durring the sanding proccess of the boat and before i went through the engine.

You've probably got some bushing slop on the connecting rod if it does it at BDC.

BTW, have any trouble getting the flex cable in? That sure looks like a lot of angle for just coming out of the collet.

thats what i thought at first too, that there was play around the connecting rod or in the wrist pin. yet it only makes the noise turning counter clockwise, not clockwise. and after looking down the exuahst port and seeing the piston, i found that there was no visible slop in the engine when i turned it over.
as for the flex cable, i think the camera exagerates the angle of the shaft a bit, it's pretty much paralell with the engine.

The disc may be broken or worn. That is the part the crank attaches to.The disc may also be loose. There should only be .001 clearence between the disc and back plate. The carb, I would adjust the one on the engine and actually bypass the remote needle. If all else fails, I have a great running Rossi 65 on ebay
