X435 vs Y535
 

I have a straight shaft miss bud with a go engine .18
What would be the best prop for that- the<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 1px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 1px; ">X435or the Y353... or maybe something else?
Ive had quite a few cracks that Ive had to repair with epoxy so the bottoms not exactly smooth and I don't know how its going to effect the plane. I need a prop that will give me the best performance and keep MB from cavitating.
Also whats a good site to get props already balanced and sharpened? (and preferably at a reasonable price... I don't need a million dollar propellerhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...wink_smile.gif)

Personally I prefer the 3 blade props like the M435\3 especially on a Tail Heavy boat like the Miss Bud, because they tend to give more Lift to the transom which help keep the Bow Down,, But on Slick Water a 2 blade prop like the Y535 is a little better because it lets the Bow Float and run a little Looser. The X435 will not be enough Prop for the Go .18.
OffShoreElectrics.com often has those props available or FunRCBoats.com may have them also, Do a Google Search on em and you may find more places that have them available,,, Or shoot me a PM I have Both the M435\3 and Y535 S&B.

Thanks! I was thinking about the Y535.. but i wasnt sure b/c I couldnt find anybody with the same set up but I think Ill go with the 535

What kinda water conditions are you running in? Slick water or does it tend to have a little breeze\ripple or chop??

Well I guess it would depend on the wind... If theres wind then it would be a little rough but most of the time its pretty smooth. Not like glass but the wavesdissipate pretty quickly when Im running. Would rough water make a difference on which prop to get?

If it was meI would try both. Ihave tried bothon my bud hull's and found that the X435 prop would get you up on the plan really quick butI lost a little top end, where the Y535 prop took a little more to get onto the plan but thenI had a little more speed down the straight.

Yes pond conditions Do make a difference on pond conditions, No one prop will give you the best results in all conditions. As Boris said it's a good idea to have more than one prop to match the current pond conditions. The M435\3 will be a better prop in Breezy\Windy conditions to help keep the Bow Down going into the wind so you decrease the chance of a Blow over, and the Y535 will be a better prop on Slick Water.

The art of prop balance is not that big a deal. You can save lots of $ doing it yourself. You may find it more rewarding doing it yourself. But if you don't have a Dremil and a prop balance. Then you may want to buy them already S&B Use a mask when you sand ,Belium is toxic. Why they still use it, I'm not sure. If you use Stainless steel.use a mask I have gotten a migraine sanding props. I do try to be in a well vented room. But I have been around a metal grinder many years. One bad pit stop you'll need to fix it yourself. Them props don't like sand and gravel.

Ya see Id like to do it myself but Im afraid Id screw it up.
I think Ill buy one sharpened and balanced and try to do it myself with the next one.
