Inboard starting belt options (who makes one that can handle power)

I have a 90cc inboard engine and am looking for the strongest starting belt I can buy. I have used prather and others of the same quality. But keep shredding them. Is there a better one out there maybe even one like an automotive belt?

Check out Stock Drive Products. I bought parts from them when I was making a belt drive for a 75cc gas engine.

They are sewing machine belts, try a local repair shop for some different ones to try.

Brian are you saying the Prather belts are sewing machine belts? Or are you saying to try sewing machine belts?

Yes to both, some vacuum cleaners use similar belts as well. If you have a local repair shop you might get lucky and get some used ones for free.

Go to a local automotive store and get a Gates 2L series..several different lengths and will probably have to order but I got mine from Oreillys and work great on my .45 and my CMB .90

One way to help save the belts is to loosen the glow plug when firing it up. That lowers the compression just enough to help spin it over easier.
