Fuji Seahorse Outboard Info?

Hello, I'm about to attempt restoration of a Fuji Seahorse outboard. Would anyone have a set of the original instructions sheet with the exploded diagram? Cheers

Not much help, but you might be able to sweet talk this guy into scanning/emailing for a few $$

Thanks and much appreciated!
The model I'm restoring has the red casing for the motor. I haven't been able to find any website with a timeline history of these Fuji outboards, the various models, versions, etc. Seems like there are a few versions. I've seen photos of pulley start lower down, presumably below the back-plate, others with rip-cord for flywheel at the top. There are geared versions, 1:1 direct drive ratio and different capacity engines, 15 and 19, I think.

This is the best I could come up with so far. Fuji 15 Sea Horse Outboard

I have two, "restored" one (mechanical only, not cosmetical). And I do not even confine them to the shelf, I run mine, at least one of them.

Ask away. I do have the "instructions" but they are of not really much help.

Which one do you have, the (originally) aircooled one or the watercooled FW17RC? Because there's quite a bit of difference between the two. Then there also was the pretty rare and larger 19. That one I do not know too much about.

You most likely have the aircooled one with the 1:1 drive ratio. It would be by and large identical to what Qwk linked to in post #4. The funny thing is, the picture of the engine in its box that accompanied the Peter Chinn article, is NOT the same engine as Chinn reviewed (not watercooled, but fitted with a recoil starter). I had one exactly like that but sold it on, never ran it it was NIB.
The geared ones with the watercooling, as shown in post #2 to the best of my knowledge only came with an off-white lower end and a brown hood.

The aircooled 1:1 ratio one came in several versions, with intake throttle, with exhaust throttle, with pull starter and without. Water cooling was added to the latest versions of those. Then there were different styles of transom-brackets as well, with dual clamps and single. There possibly were other versions as well. because as you say, very difficult to find a timeline or a model line-up. I do not even know for sure when production started and when it ended.
There used to be a US company that made the 'KoolKlamp" device, that one could tie around the cylinder head of an aircooled engine in order to make it watercooled. It works well, I have one on the Fuji that I run.
