Nitromethane mixing question
I am planning on mixing my own nitro(50%) and was wondering what kind of oils I have to choose from. I would like to run synthetic only but someone told me I may have to run a small percentage of castor oil also. Thanks for all the help.

RE: Nitromethane mixing question
Definately use both, they have very different properties both of which are necessary for good performance. Synthetic oil burns almost completely away in the combustion process where caster doesn't burn leaving it to cool the engine. there are several forums discussing fuel mixing on rcgroups.com and rcuniverse.com. Plus here is a couple of links that have good info. Be careful - not much to gain and a lot to loose. Good luck!

RE: Nitromethane mixing question
I mix all my own fuel. I use 10% synthetic, 10% caster and differing amounts of nitro depending on what engine its for. i am in Aus so I can't recommend a place to buy it from for you.
