RE: engine swap

If you wanted to go to the Traxxas motor, get the new one that's coming out.

IF you get new new version, it should be a bolt-in. I wouldn't try to shoehorn the onboard starting system in it though, go with the pull-start version.

thanks i think i will try. i ditched the ez start the first thing i did when i go the engine. when i am done with the nitro hammer it will be a frankinstine boat with spare rc parts from here and there lol

The reason why I mentioned the new version is because of the crankshaft. It has interchangable threads to go from long or short to an SG type. With the old version, it was set up with the SG type for the clutch assembly.

SO does the stock engine that comes in a Nitro hammer a long threaded shaft? Im interested in buying one, and i have a 2.5 and a 2.5r laying around :) And i know they have alot of power for a little .15. When my Revo was on the stock 2.5R it would wheelie like crazy! And it was very easy to tune and held tune really well. And Tower is selling the water cooling heads for the 2.5s :)
