collet

does anyone make a 1/4 28 x 1/8 collet
i have OS .20 1/4 28 shaft and prop shaft is 1/8" rod
i need to connect them together

i found a 1/4 28 x 4mm but the 4mm is bigger than 1/8"<br type="_moz" />

RE: collet

1\8 shaft is kinda small for that size engine, and the props that fit a 1\8 shaft will be a bit small also. A .150 flex with a .187(3\16) stub shaft to hold the prop or a straight .187 shaft will hold up to the Torque\HP of that size engine.

i am guessing on the 1/8" it was in boat when i picked it up
i will have to check the tube to see what size it is

i paid 10.00 for this boat 20" long deep v plywood and balsa construction motor mount /tube and cooling pickup were in boat . fuel tank in bow but one line kinked and other one plugged up so i cut them off flush with wood
plywood is sig and was .49 cents for 1/8x3x36" sheets so that tells you how old it is
i dont have much in boat just trying to adapt the os.20 that i had on grandsons air boat
and using radio from a old traxxas hawk 2 truck. made exhaust from copper tube

Size wise that boat would fly with a Marine engine in that size class. That airplane engine is a bit lower performance than a marine engine, it should have a decent amount of torque, it just won't turn up the rpm's as high or as quick as a marine engine. I would definitely check the tube size and see if it will take a bigger shaft.

a good header and Tuned pipe will also get you much better performance than a straight exhaust pipe, 2 strokes need that expansion chamber to be able to turn up good rpm's. A good exhaust is one of the biggest performance boosters for a 2 stroke engine.

exhaust starts as 3/4" coupling flattened to a oval to match exhaust flange then reduced to 1/2" then reduced to 3/8 and exits thru side of boat where a existing 3/8 hole was
i haven't ran motor in boat yet waiting on flywheel.
this boat is just for fun i have three airboats that i run Dumas Big Swamp Buggy with asp .46, alligator tour airboat that is getting 4" added to width and a 24" scratch built with a fox .25

RE: collet

engine is a OS max .20
i had to make exhaust as i could not find a strap on muffler that would clear front bulkhead
no bolt holes for muffler
