Default Goldberg Extra 300 set up help

Hey folks I need some advice on setting up a goldberg extra 300. I have been out of the sport for a while and i am in the process of getting this bird back up.

These are the throws I have found on the net.
Ail low 3/8 high 5/8
elev low 5/16 high 7/16
rud low 5/8 high 1 3/16
cg 5 to 5 3/4

I have a saito 120 rudder servo in the tail and two servos for the elev in the tail.

I really need to know how to balance the plane canopy up or down.

Thanks Rickey

Alot of people balance a low-wing plane while inverted(canopy down)... I like to balance them all upright personally regardless of wing placement....

Knowing the Goldberg Extra is essentially a shoulder/mid-wing plane, I'm sure you'd be fine balancing it upright. No doubt in my mind.. as that's how I would do it. Good luck with that fine old classic.

Thumbs up Here's a "Little" info

Fine airplane. Go to this link: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/kit-...tra-300-a.html and you will see EVERYTHING regarding the plane. It has 71 pages of info ! Be patient and cruise through them for your needs.
Right now I have 2 kits sitting patiently to be assembled, I just obtained an OS 1.08 for power for one, I am looking forward to the build this winter.

FWIW, I had a similar plane (Sukhoi) wind up pretty far out of CG when I balanced it inverted. It turns out the wings were close enough to neutral that I couldn't get a good reading on it. I built a Vanessa CG rig and did a lot better job balancing it. It was easier to use too.

Do a search right here on RCU in the Kit Builders forum as there is a very indepth and current thread there on the Carl Goldberg Extra 300L that is loaded with tons of valuable information and tips on building, trimming and flying the model.
