I have had the Gp Super Sportster and also a Hanger 9 Pulse and would prefer the pulse over the super sportster because of the better materials design and two piece wing which makes transport easier.
The Twist is in a catagory by itself and I love it too.....
The cloud dancer looks great and may have to try one out this summer....
One can never have too many planes

RE: What is the best current ARF Sports Model?
I love the ace kit, I love the GP Super Sporster, kinda think of it..... I'd have them all..... if I only had the money.....
I did buy the Calamato with a OS50FS ringed, the OS50 performs like a 61FX in the size, weight and shape of a 40. I olnly had it one weekend, but the thing takes off vertical right into the clouds like a rocket. I learned that overpowering (if you want to call it that) my planes makes them a lot more fun, my rule is to look for the more powerful powerplant I can get my hands on, on the top size/range recommended by the manufacturer of the model (well, the Calamato calls for a 40-45 but the OS50 has the dimensions of the 40, and actually the OS45AX which is all the rage this days is less powerful, bigger in size and weighs more than the 50).
I had people at the field tell me my new "pattern" (??) plane looks and flies great, this Calmato thing goes balistic with the OS50. I saw one poor guy at the field with the same plane and an older OS40FP, he asked me "how come I could do those things in the air and he couldn't" --- the two models looked the same but they were chalk and cheese ....his needed all the runway to take off, climbed very slowly and could barely do any stunts.
Bottom line my recommendation is don't skimp on the engine, do a bit of research and trust me when I say that the extra 50 bucks will take the plane to another level..... also because I did not add any weight this sports plane still lands like a trainer. I'm sure this applies to the other lovely kits mentioned in the thread.
Can't wait till next weekend!

Hands down Four Star 60. Clip one wing bay off, put a ST 90 in it with high torque servos. It will scream. All this stuff about it won't knife edge well is bunk. I haven't added in rudder but set throws max and it knife edges good with a little coupling. Can be a trainer if you want it to be and flies super slow, no bad habits. I own several airplanes and this one wins the "fun Factor" hands down.

man that's ahard one for me..I have a seagull laser 200 and it flies great..admittedly I am torn b etween two planes this summer one being the showtime 50 and the other is the pulse xt 40..I am about to fly a minipulse with the aide of a friend and hopefully with a 480 motor it will do anything I can think of and while thats a mean motor with proper throttle management it should be great.lastly I likely am going to fly a classic! an aeromaster2..an oldie for sure but legendary.just so happens a longtime rc'er has one sitting in his shop and I have fourstroke 90 just itchin to fly it around the filed this june.and I have a new H9 ultrastick that is just waiting for me when I head north.man aint this hobby fun fun fun..

I have the Four Star 60, and I love it. One of the best flying and building planes I have ever owned. It will knife edge all day long! I have a seagull laser 200 with a ST 2300 and it flys heavy. There are much better planes out their. If My wife told Me I could only have one plane in the hanger [&o], I think it would be the Great Planes® Venus™ II ARF.

RE: What is the best current ARF Sports Model?
Ok first off Jigeye you are right about the 4 star being a great plane. There is a guy at our club 95th Air Squdron based off I-95 in NC that can drag any part of the plane you want the lenght of the runway and makes it look easy. This includes the wingtip in a knife edge pass that is straight as an arrow. But enough of that, All planes mentioned are great fliers but where are the looks? I mean come on guys it can look great and fly great too. Enough of the boxes already! I love my RV-4! Hall but? yes Rock and Roll? yes Slow to a walk on landing? YESSSSSS! Come on guys and she is georgous!!!!!! Granted the only arf i know of is the .60 arf released not to long ago by Great Planes. I personally have the .40 kit plane. Let me know what ya'll think. When i figure out thes add a pic thing i will till then look at the stock photo on tower and emagin Pearl White and Metallic Blue with Gold Chrome Accents.

Have I dealt with the folks at http://www.thundertiger4u.com before? Yes, and I've been very pleased with their customer service. I've enjoyed good communication and fast shipping with them on all of my orders. If you're thinking about ordering the Ace Cloud Dancer .60 ARF, I have no hesitation about recommending them.
http://www.thundertiger4u.com is an authorized reseller for Ace Hobby with access to spare parts for just about anything you'd need as well. The distributor would also be available to support any warranty issues or questions you might have, they're at http://www.acehobby.com

After I replied to your e-mail today, ekfinch, I decided to call Ace Hobby. They said they sold their last Cloud Dancer .60 that they had in stock last month.
Unless Ace decides to order more Cloud Dancers from Taiwan, there won't be any more in North America.
