Default Carl Goldberg 300 68" kit

I'm looking at buying an extra 300 that has been built already.it looks well built and straight.I have an ASP 61 to put in it.I'm currently thrashing a CAP 232 46R at the moment and want to step up to someting a bit bigger.any comments on this model welcome

You need more motor. I have an OS 1.08FSR on mine. I would not want less although mine is heavy.

the person who built it had a 108 in it but was to scared to fly it.The goldberg site says 60 minimum.I would be looking to repower when i could afford a new motor. It still has the rubber monts installed

I had a 1.20 four stroke in mine and it was very well behaved. A .60 will fly it but will not give a true "Extra" experience. It needs more engine.

I had an O.S. .91 on mine and it was a great combo. No 3D stuff, just a good solid flyer.

This is a very nice model that has impeccable flying manners. Your ASP 61 will fly it for sure but it's flight performance will be limited. In my opinion a 90 should be considered as a min size motor for this model.

My Extra started life with a ST 75 up front and then a ST 90. I made a switch from glow and it now has an elect. ignition G23 gas motor. It is a blast to fly and still lands like a trainer.

I flew one years ago with a ST 90. By todays standards it was under powered. I would not put a .60 in one. Goldberg also says a .60 will fly the Ultimate. It will fly it I guess. It just would not be a lot of fun.

My Brother And I Flew These On ST 90's And They Were A Ball To Fly But Not Overpowered. I Bought A Used One From A Hobby Shop Some Years Later for $100.00 And Used An ASP 108 On It. I Flew That One Like A $100.00 Plane. Pretty Tough Planes Too. Wish I Had It Back Now. I Have A Kit Stuck Back For Later Though. Also A Goldberg Bucker, An Ultimate And A Sukhoi Kit Too. One Of These Days !!!

I had a used one that I used a 108 magnum on. Flew great hated the engine. Put a 90 ST on it and took all the lead out of the tail. It flew much lighter and was a lot of fun,but still not a lot of power. 1.25 Saito 110 YS would have made it perfect. I want to buy a new kit just for later. Its a great model that really flys nice.
