They are both good companies and you'll do well dealing with either of them. But it's really hard to choose between them because each of them are the sole distributor for different hobby brands. Tower Hobbies = Great Planes, Top Flight, OS, and Futaba (among others). Horizon Hobbies = Hanger 9, Saito, Zenoah, and JR (among others).

So unless there is something particular that you are looking for it's really hard to say which one is better than the other.

As I said in my first post, because they are the sole distributors for those brands you are limited to where you have to buy. The Mini Pulse XT is a E-Flight product and is sold only through Horizon Hobby, so that's where you have to get it from. The Super Sportster is a product of Great Planes and sold only through Tower Hobbies, so that's where you have to get it from.

Hope this helps

As I said above, they are both quality companies and their products are for the most part all good. You really need to decide which plane you want by the plane, and not by the company.

Now I'll really throw a wrench in the works...

There's a new kid in town called Advantage Hobbies

http://www.advantagehobby.com/

AH sells ALL of the major brands - JR, Futaba, OS, Saito etc

We met them at the Toledo show:

And oddly enough, they're located in Champaign, IL - go figure
