Default What is it???

My friend gave me this plane to rebuild. It has some crash damage but it is very repairable. Im thinking of making it a full time float plane so that I won't have to fix the damage to the retracts. Anyone know what it is? Its not an Ultra Sport....

It's a World Models Intruder pattern plane that uses a 61 2 stroke or 91 four stroke engine

Here she is, repaired and and almost ready to fly. Its not an Intruder, though that was a good guess. Any more guesses??

I'm almost positive it's an Ultra Sport.

Before I scrolled to the last post and being as it wasn't an Intruder the plane has to be an Ultra Sport

My vote is "Rainbow Runner" GM Precision kit from the 80's. Modified rudder, but otherwise looks just like it.

As I said in my first post, its not an Ultra Sport. Look closley at the wing tips, the ailerons extend all the way to the tips, unlike an US. Also the wing is higher up on the fuselage making the belly pan taller. The fuselage is also quite a bit narrower than an US.

You got it Jim!
Yup, its a GM Precision Rainbow Runner, and yes, the tail was changed from its original goofy shape to something more apealing. It does look a lot like an Ultra Sport but if you were to put the two side by side, you would see a lot of differences.

Well, I flew her on sunday with the help of JRF, thanks Jim! She flew great after a little trimming. I just about bonked her on takeoff but was able to get her high enough to fiddle with the trim tabs and get her flying straight. Once trimmed out, she flew beautifully! Much like an Ultra Sport.Very smooth and precise. I think Jim had fun flying it and he and I agreed that the Ultra Sport is pretty much a combination of a Kaos and a Rainbow Runner. All the great flying qualitys of the Kaos with the cool looks of the Rainbow Runner.
I still have an unopened kit of this plane so I plan on flying the hell out of this baby!
