Lets See Your Sky Raiders!!!
Show off your Sky Raiders here.
Please show pics if you can.
Heres my Super Sky Raider Mach II. It has 3" non-treaded tires and an O.S. 55 AX. Unfortunatly I crashed it on the 4th flight. I was doing a low pass and pulled back all the way which snaped the right side of the wing off and then spiraled down to the ground. But I have one that I plan on racing this summer. And I have another one in a box that is untouched. None of my other Sky Raiders have a 55 on them and none in the future will either because of this. I will add more pics later.

Here's my Mach-1. It's not the prettiest plane I own, not the fastest and not the most aerobatic. It may be one of my favorites though. I love doing touch and goes with it and it knife edges great which kind of surprised me. For the money, you can't go wrong.

How about a bunch of Raiders? Not only that, Racing Raiders!
We race them around a 2 pylon course, great fun! The picture has 11 Sky Raiders Mach II's and 5 LA Racers.

We also 2 pylon race here in kansas. I have a racer ready for this season. I have never pylon raced before so I don't know what to expect. I don't have any pics of my racer yet but I do have pics of some other guys racing.
Cool Raiders
I just finished covering the bottom of my friends Sky Raider wing that he might race this season also. It turned out perfect which surprised me because it was the first time I used Monocote.

Those Skyraiders look great, we have a few in our club. as you can see by Al's photos.
What are your rules with Plylon racing them, could be good fun for interclub competitions.
They are $89 each in Australia, so not to expensive, I am sure lots of people have an old 40 or 46 stashed away
that could be resurrected.
Cheers Greg

That is correct Chuck. It's there. So SKY Raider Fans, join in the fun. Club 40 racing seems to be catching on. I am trying to get some interest in my club.
Was out just boreing holes in the sky with mine today.

Here is my latest SkyRaider. I don't like the covering that World Models uses, so I stripped it all off before I started assembly and recovered the plane with Ultracote. The last SkyRaider I had kept having problems with the clear outer layer of the covering separating. This time, I got the color scheme I like and don't have to worry about the covering peeling off.

At the field yesterday noticed the same thing, one of the Raiders covering was starting to peel off, and it wasn't from the sheer speed in the corners trying to catch Grease's new racer on its first outing, had the same problem with my WM T28 the covering started to lift on the wings.
I just throw a cloth cover over them while they are sitting in the sun, still must be a problem with that Tughlon covering they use, not to tough in the sun eh!.
Cheers Greg
