Saito 56 for Sporster 40 ??

Hi all! I recently bought an old plane w engine and am not sure if this little engine (Saito 56) can make the job correcly.

Few years a go I had exactly this model of aircraft but with a Surpass 70 and I loved it very much

A Saito .56 should fly it around in a nice, leisurely sport plane sort of way while still providing good aerobatic capability. A .70-class four stroke would certainly add more speed and excitement, but I'd advise you to try the airframe with the included engine for a while before deciding whether or not to replace it.

Good luck and good flying!

I use a Saito 56 on a Telemaster 40 currently, had one on a Cessna 182, no problem there either, but both float a lot more than a low wing Sportster. I'm sure it will fly it, just not as exhilarating as you might expect with a .70 4 stroke when performing mild aerobatics.

Depends on what your kit weighs compared to the 4.5-5 lb spec for the ARF.

It may fly it better than you expect if tuned right on the money, and something like an APC 12x8. You can prop the engine to turn around 10,400 RPM and probably stay within RPM limits.

I am trying hard to remember and I think I ran mine with the OS 52 4C ... it was okay ... nice to fly around but not as much speed as you would get with a 46 2C. Loops were okay ...
