Since You asked for feedback on Marketplace - Here's Mine!

The "Old RCU" Classifieds were my very favorite internet site. I used to browse them at least twice a day. I've made 50+ purchases from them and even sold a few items.
From my point of view it was close to perfect.

I gave the "New Marketplace" 2 weeks trial. I don't peruse it at all any more since there are less than a quarter of the listings in the areas i am interested in. Also the prices and the dealer vs. private ad ratio have gone up. Example; Glow Engines - Used to be 20 to 25 new ads per day. Of that 20 - 25 three fourths of them were individuals selling premium Japanese and European Engines. Now with the "New RCU Marketplace" There are 4 to 7 new ads per day and it is mostly dealers selling chinese junk at prices I can get anywhere.
Also I can't see what price has been offered and what the response was. This leads to a lot of wasted effort for bidder and seller.

Under $30 is a good addition but how about adding a price range on the "Drill-Down" Filter (or whatever you call it)

Yes. Prices might be up. Blame RCU for that. Sellers are selling faster than ever before. Check your filters and show All Ads and then click through the pages and note all the sold icons. Active buyers in the classifieds are creating demand since they can now find product faster. This higher demand leads to higher prices sometimes.

Marketplace forces and economics dictate pricing. Something is only worth what another is willing to pay for it. We do not set prices but free market forces set them.

If a buyer/bidder doesn't want to post his offer publically he does not have to. This is NO DIFFERENT from the old RCU where a buyer could PM or email the seller. If a buyer doesn't ask that his offer be posted to the classified discussion then yes you will not see the offer and response just the way the buyer wanted it to be.

So if you want to see offers and responses tell all those buyers you want them to post their offers publically on the board. If you want lower prices then tell everyone else to stop buying stuff so fast at the hgher price. We provide the tools and platform. How users want to utilize them is up to them. All choices are available to them.

I know I never go there any more. The only place I ever visit on RCU now are the Suggestions threads. Just to see if everyone else is as displeased with the new layout as me. I find the new layout is more cluttered and difficult to navigiate. Not to mention the speed on the board. The ads used to be my favorite place to view. but since the change I think I have only visited there 4-5 times!!!! Oh well, we can complain all we want to but it will stay this way!!!!!! I'll continue to check in once and a while (1-2 week), but not like my old viewing of 4-5 times a day :-(

You are not alone. I used to browse the classifieds nearly daily, purchased regularly. Now I don't look at them at all unless I am really desparate for something. I believe they have lost a large portion of both viewers and sellers. But you are correct, it's the way it is and it's not going to change. I used to browse RCU classifeds all the the time and practically never went to Ebay. Now I do almost all my browsing on Ebay or other sites.
