Scoring system
 
Just some user feedback, I'm not a fan of the new scoring system. It seems like a great idea at first, but I have seen on other forums this type of function being wildly misused. Soon the scoring system will become a joke between users and of no real value in evaluating a user's advice. It is all too easy for one person with extra time to search past posts and drop a particular user's score to zero without even reading the posts.

Scoring systems like this I have seen become only popularity contests and users who are not well liked by only a few posters end up with very low scores regaurdless of how usefull their advice may be. (Think moderators and administrators)

Just as an example, RCadmin's score is currently negative 23.

Mine is -23 because I deserve that LOL :)

The scoring system is in beta and we'll see how it goes and if it doesn't work great we can all have some fun with it. I can also adjust the system, change algorithms, etc to knock out anomolous ratings (i.e. users who give out too many ratings to one person, more points for unique users rating a certain post, etc).

Mine was -134 before it got reset...I don't think anybody else's was that low.
