G500 Parts! Where can I get them? What fits from other Supertigres?
My G500 Engine blew up with an broken Conrod after about 2 Gall. I was not the first owner of the Engine but I think it had ony some test running bevore. The G500 Muffler had an broken internal Part also so I think this may be the reason. The prop was an 8x8 APC. The Fuel was 20/80 Castor FAI mix. The upper part of the Conrod just broke and destroyed the Liner/Piston and I assume the rear bearing too.
It is not easy to find parts for this engine. I like the Engine and want to give it a 2nd chance.
Towerhobbies has the G500 Muffler and many parts for ST Engines. Would the conrod from an G40-46 (TH Number: [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFW51&P=0]LXFW51[/link]) fit the G500?
Is there any Liner/Piston Assembly for 40 sized engines that fits the G500. It should be an high timed ABC type because this engine is going to be used in Q500 Pylonracing. What about the ABC Liner/Piston Assembly for the S40K (TH Number: [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFX17&P=0]LXFX17[/link])? Would this fit the G500?

The SuperTigre G500 was discontinued a number of years ago. Any parts for it are just residual leftovers that never sold out.
At this time, there are no current-production parts that would fit into the engine.

I found, that the G40 cylinder-sleeve fits exactly into the G500 Case. But this is not very good for performance above 17000 rpm.
Was the S-40K an side exhaust engine or rear exhaust? I have some problems to find information about the S40K. If it is an side exhaust engine, I will risk to order the cylinder/piston assy from tower and try it in my G500 case.

The SuperTigre S-40K was a side-exhaust engine. Its timing and RPM range was virtually identical to the timing and RPM range of the current GS-40 engine. Many of the internal parts for the GS-40 fit right into the S-40K.

Tower has the G500 muffler for sale. Is this muffler suitable for the older S-40 ABC? Is the mounting bolt spacing correct for the S-40 case? The price looks good but how does this muffler compare to the Ultrathrust and Jett hipro mufflers? I have a Mac's flow through G-21 muffler on engine now. I am just curious about the G500 muffler. Is it worth a try?

I actually use this muffler on my refurbished G500 Supertigre. Some people in the German Q500 league use it on Nelsons and with adapters on their tuned Rossi 40.
The Muffler is set up for a higher rpm and you should use 1-2 Inch less pitch compared to a Nelson Q500 Muffler.
Ground RPM should be 19500 -20000.
The engine will unload much more than with Nelson Muffler in the air.
There is a big problem with this Supertigre Mufflers. The tube inside the Mufflers brakes after some time of use. They are cheap but they will not last very long. []
