Super Tigre GS45 on a tuned pipe (?)
I just found a New in Box Super Tigre GS45 that I bought in 1992 and lost in a myrad of boxes during a move. I'm putting it on a Great Planes Venus 40. I'd like to entertain putting it on a tuned pipe.
1. Any suggestions on where to find guidance on using a tuned pipe? or -iIs this just a bad idea to attempt a tuned pipe on a GS 45?
2. If not, where can I find a manifold and pipe to match?
3. What fuel should I use or minimum requirements should I look for in fuel when using a tuned pipe?
I'm looking for a little extra punch for the Venus and figure rather than buy a new engine, I'll try a pipe.
Thanks in advance. WSHall

A tuned pipe will help a bit at full throttle only. Don't expect performance gains at lower throttle settings. You'd need to get a pipe and manifold from someone like Mac's Mufflers. They make after-market pipes and accessories. Just use regular fuel and you'll be OK. Expect 500 RPM or more as an increase.

sorry if this late but you could also look at putting a Jettstream or Ultrathrust muffler, might be an easier alternative to a tuned pipe a probably and a slightly larger power band for user friendliness along with a good gain in rpm
