Default ST 40 Bent Needle

I've an old ST 40 Blue Head with a bent high speed needle. Does anyone know if the G-51 control line needle offered by online retailers is the same size? ST part #22260354.
Thanks,
- RB8

We're not sure if that is long enough. This works, though, and can be ordered through your hobby retailer:

Bax, was a little ham-handed and broke the piston ring on this ST Blue-head 40.

For me it's a first, so I had a couple of general questions. I know it isn't a good idea but given the scarcity of parts, what happens if I just re-install the broken ring? More blow-by? Or is something more serious likely to happen?

If I do replace the ring, should I also replace other parts? Things like the liner, piston, etc.

I saw a reference to the piston for this engine that has a part number identical to the G34 ringed engine:
THIS IS THE EARLY .40 SUPER TIGER PISTON FOR RINGED ENGINES. THIS IS A FLAT TOP PISTON THAT USES 1 COMPRESSION RING AND A PIN IN THE RING GROOVE SETS THE POSITION OF THE RING GAP. THE GREAT PLANES # IS SUPG5209.
Could they be the same part?

Thanks for the education,
- RB8
