Very old S/T 75 "S" indetification help..
I recently purchased an airplane and I am wondering if someone can help me identify the engine. It is a very old 75 and it has a large "S" on one side of the motor. I believe I was told it is a Senturi or Senturo motor. I am try to figure out prop sizes and plugs to use in it. I would really like to find a manual for it if possible. I will take some pics after I remove the cowling.
Thanks
Shane

You have a SuperTigre S-75K engine. You can download the manual here:
http://www.supertigre.com/manuals/index.html
It will apply to your engine as well as the current versions. The parts list will be a bit off, but your engine and the current engine use almost all the same internal parts.

Bax, will the carbs on the new 75's fit the old 75's. Mine is leaking fuel everywhere. Would rather put a new carb on than to mess with the old.
Thanks Shane

Bax,
That is good news on the S75, as I picked one up recently too. I also picked up an S90. Does it share a lot of parts with the G90 also?
Thanks,
jack
Edit - I found my answer here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7883691/tm.htm, but when did the G repalce the S?

Now if I could just get it too stop leaking so much fuel it would be great. Leaks out the rubber boot as well as the HSN valve. Doesn't drip but after one flight the whole engine and compartment are all wet. Everything is fuel proofed so it won't hurt anything.

It's normal for glow engines to spew oil all over. Some is normally thrown from the front bearing, and some out of the carburetor at low RPM. You can alleviate the carb spew a bit by adding an air filter. That can be as little as a piece of womens' nylon stocking held over the carburetor intake with a bit of wire.
If the engine is literally dripping with fresh fuel after running a bit, then the fit between the front of the crankcase and crankshaft is bad. The seal is not made by the bearing, but by the close fit of the crank to the case. The pumping action of the piston normally drives some fuel there to lubricate the front bearing. However, if the clearance is too great, the engine will pump out a great deal of raw fuel through the bearing. This means that you need a new case, crank, or both.
The S-75 shares parts with the .61-.75-.90 size engines. You'll need to check the parts lists.

Now that I look at it, it does seem to me that the crank does have a slight side to side movement. Probably wouldn't hurt to put a new bearing in it.
Thanks Bax.
