New ST 90 dies when going from 1/2 throttle
I have a new ST90 with a 14 x 6 APC propwith about a 1/2 gallon of fuel usage. I have owned ST's for many years including 3 other ST 90's. The problem is after setting the high end and pinching the fuel tube with no real RPM change I take off. I reach ideal height and throttle back to about 40-50% throttle. After fly for 5 minutes at this setting, I throttle up and the engines quits.

Very likely, the idle mixture is not quite correct, so the engine is a bit rich and then chokes out after running a while at moderate throttle. Please try adjusting the engine per our procedure detailed at the top of this forum. Very likely, the balance of the high-speed and low-speed needles is off.
