Default General Question about

I was wondering why a lot of people I notice have two of the same helis. For instance, at the local field where I fly, there are guys with two 450s or two 600s etc... I'm not trying to change anyone here lol, but i'm just curious as to why so many people have two of the same helis. Wouldn't it be more exciting just to stick with one of each brand/class? Hope not to offend anyone, just being a bit curious...

That's because you always want to have one flying should you crash. I have 3 HK450, one of which I put in a Bell MD500 fuselage and have just ordered a 5 blade rotor for. I also have a Trex 450 Sport. I normally bring that one and one HK450 to the field. I also built an HK500GT and a Trex 500 ESP. I might bring only one of those to the field, but it really depends how I feel. I also have a few park flyers (F4U Corsair and an Extra 300), but will only bring one at a time.

If I do crash, I might just pack it in for the day, depending on how I feel. If I know I might make another mistake, why take a chance :-)

Because we don't want to have to take a break from flying when we have a break from flying. Three 450's, two 500's and one 550.
