RE: size 700 or 550 which one is better
I only have up to 500. I was wondering the same lately, and I heard that the larger they are, the more stable they might be, but also the less nimble they are and the more costly they are to repair. Gravity has something to do with it . If you are 3D flyer, then 550 might be better. If you like scale, then 700, but get a nice fuselage.

RE: size 700 or 550 which one is better
I have a 550e 3G & love it It flys great very stable with he 3G & repair cost is still within the realm of mortals. The 700 is a great kit but it is expensive to repair. Almost every crash results in a new set of blades. For a 700 that means your repair cost starts at $120 to 140 & goes up. 550 blandes start at $ 69 so an average crash will cost about 150 - 200. Blades, main shaft feathering shaft, tail boom torque tube gears etc. I would shoot for the 550 if I were you, I think you'l really like it. I also own a Trex 450, a 500esp & 250se & my 550 is by far my hands down favorite to fly.
Hope this helped
