Default Better Value T-Rex XL or the SE

What do you think of your T-Rex? What would you have done different?

it's cheaper to buy the SE with all the bling rather than turn a non-SE into a SE

I have an old 450X that has been nicely set up, but not blinged. I have helped a dozen other T-Rex pilots set up and test fly their 450X and XL helis. (and 15 or so fixed pitch micros, and an ECO 8)
I helped set up and test fly my first SE earlier this week. It was MUCH smoother than any of the other birds I have worked on.
If your budget allows it, go for the SE.

Just like what they all say...Go for the SE..I should have done that myself but instead went for the long haul building my own out of a little liftover parts i have from my 450 X and spend more than what the SE would cost me in the first place..

I got mine for less than $489, but then again you would have to drive to my LHS-)

I bought the SE and have a friend who will be buying the XL. I am trying to talk him out of the XL and getting the SE.

Just the info I was looking for. I think I 2 will go with the SE since I really don't want to have to upgrade anything after the fact. Can anyone comment on the specs below - is this a good SE setup - or should I go with a digital servo in the tail to match with the 401?

Also - what's the approx build time for an SE - have airplane experience but no heli.

Thx.

I bought mine from a LHS in OC for $419.00 and it is the SE V2.

I would post the shop name and location here if it wern't against the rules. I have NO affiliation with the HS, just a loyal customer.

That looks like a good setup, but since you're getting a gy401 you might as well get a digital servo for it.
