Default Trex 450XL (CCpM) help

Hi I was looking at the Trex 450XL ccpm with brushless motor and 45esc but I was wandering if I got the one without the motor and esc and I bought the Align 35A brushless ESCRCE-BL35G (Governor Mode) which motor should I get? The Align 430L Brushless Motor (3550KV) RCM-BL430L or Align 430L Brushless Motor (4050KV) RCM-BL430L, or even something else?

Thanks!

I've heard nothing but good about the Align 430L 3550kV motor, I will be upgrading my 'rex to that soon.

Click on this link and scroll down to the 450XL CDE , that was the T-rex I purchased , and am pretty happy with it !

DOES ALIGN HAVE A 430L 4050KV MOTOR AND IF SO WOULDNT YOU HAVE TO USE A 4S BATT BECAUSE A 3S BATT WOULD RUN OUT FAST. IS THIS RIGHT???

no caps please, that's equivalent to shouting.

Anyway, to answer the question, no, 3S, 4S... doesn't effect capacity, only voltage. In terms of the kv rating that's the rpms per volt, which usually does involve higher amp draws as it increases but not always and it really depends on your setup. If you spin fast with low pitch you might actually use fewer amps once it's spun up than a slower head speed with more pitch.

mah is the capacity rating and is generally independant of the voltage but still effects size. The best example I can give is this.

3S 2100mah battery is 3x bigger than a 1S 2100mah battery (usually)
3S 2100mah battery is slightly larger physically than an equivalent technology 3S 900mah battery.

As technology changes we see battery sizes shrink for a given capacity and voltage, weight also comes down. Because of that you have to carefully read the specs for a battery to see if it fits your needs, they're not all the same size, shape and weight just because they have the same voltage and mah ratings.

Ok, no more caps. I read a review on trextuning about a motor that had alot of kv like the one above and he states that even though you will get insane power the drawback is that there are really not any batts today that will give you a good flight time with this kv. but i think my question was , "is there an Align 430l 4050kv available today" ? Im not to concerned about time. I want insane power! Mike
