Default What to Buy?

I have recently gotten into the Heli world and have a Blade CP Pro that I'm starting to get the hang of.

I have a Spektrum DX6 Radio and I have ben purchasing Items (chargers, etc) that can ultimately be used with the T-Rex

From what I've seen the T-Rex looks like the way to go for me.

I would like to do it right so I'm not fighting it and I am learning.

I will use the DX6 as the radio.

It is my understanding that the Spectrum servos are not the best choice for a Heli.

What servos are a good choice?

What is a good choice in Gyro?

I was thinking about the T-Rex that has the upgrades in it out of the box (SE) good choice?

Thank you

The first gyro to consider is the Futaba gy401. Then stop considering all others...
good servos are Hitec HS56 or HS65, but I have heard some reports that they have difficulty on the DX6 receiver.

I do not care for the SA. I think getting a kit and building it yourself would be better. Not everyone agrees with me.

When you crash, and you will, it helps if you know how your heli comes apart, and most importantly how it goes back together.

You can learn by taking apart your broken heli where parts may in fact be missing, or you can learn by assembling a non broken one. I know which I think is best.

I run a DX6 on a HDE with HS-65MG's and haven't had any issues with this combo. Been flying this combo since last March I think when the 65's came out.

I'm not really concerned weather it is assembled or not as I have a talent for being able to take and put things back together correctly, It is my understanding the SE has the upgrades in it out of the box (carbon fiber, aluminum head etc.) so it should save me some money in the long run.

I'd rather buy good servos right off the bat than have to swap them out, the same with the Gyro, and the rest of the pieces.

What I'm really looking for is a shopping list so I don't wind up buying just to replace later.

Thank you.

yeah that se kit is pretty good you have to biuld it your self but it come with all the stuff that if you bough seperate it would cost a lot more but its a great hely i really recomend the hitech 65 servos they work great i have the dx6 too and i love it and yeah get the 401 or 240 gyro they work perfect all other wont get even close. but if you want just wait a bit and get the sa which comes prebuild but if i was u i would get the se and build it as its noe difficult either and you get more familiar

drtmind01

That was my understanding that the SE is the one to get.

So Far my list is:

T-Rex 450xl SE eCCPM version with CF Frame

Futaba 401 gyro with 9650 servo (tail)

Hs-56 Servos (Ael, Elv, Pit)

servo bracket for the 9650

If I were you I would spend the few extra bucks and buy the 65s rather then the 56s. The 56s have the extra bracket on the case of them and makes them just a pain.
