Default Gorilla gear alternatives?

Being new to the Heli scene, I've already snapped a few landing gears (plastic skid supports). Came across the "Gorilla Gear" option and was ready to jump on it, until I saw the price. When stock replacements are about $7 and the material costs are about $.20, it seems $18 plus shipping is a bit steep. Yes I know it will pay for itself after the second set of stock replacements, and yes, it is providing some shock absorbtion for a $600 heli. I'm wondering if any other alternatives exist that may be a bit more "economical"? If not, I'll breakdown and fork over the do,re,mi.[&o]

I can't recall any others. You have to set it down pretty hard to snap the landing gear skids though from what I've seen. Try not to chop the throttle so quickly. I know that's a natural reaction though when your learning.

Stock landing gear is very stiff and results in breakage easily. Try this, boil some water then turn it off. throw stock gear in until it cools then take out and you will notice how flexible it became and will last longer. Hope this helps and I have recently done this. Mike

Just broke mine, it was a 3 inch drop on a cold day, Hit on one corner, snapped like a dry twig. I think I am going to try the boiling method. Who sells the gorilla gear?

rchover.com has gorilla gear. $19

helidirect has something similar, around $22 if I remember. They also have a CNC strut mounting plate set for the plastic framed Trex variants.

I use Gorilla gear and they're worth it because they don't break - period. Due to their flexibility, they also absorb energy in a hard landing.

Gorilla gear is worth every penny....

I work at a hobby shop and can get the stock gear for cheap, I still bought the GG.... never needed another set
