Looking at canomods hughes 300 and their Jet Ranger.....By golly Ive been hiJacked again !!!! Ive tried contacting them about this and they wont return my email. The Jet Ranger, they tried to change the Jet Ranger a little but you definitely can see the craftmanship on the added tailfin is really poor at best. The Hughes 300 Is a direct copy of my T-rex size hughes 300C canopy. Oh, and they are making them in fiberglass of all things, the most fragile material for a heli this size. Stricken again!!!!

Here is a link to get the Airwolf body like is on mine. They are usually back ordered but the wait is only about 3 weeks and well worth it. http://www.helidirect.com/product_in...roducts_id=854 The fuselage is 95% done, the only thing that needs done is windows glued in. Retract come with it also, all setup and ready to hook up your servo.

Man I wish you wouldn't have posted those pics and that link. Now I have to have one! Had a 60 size but had way too much money in it. This looks cool! Might just have to order me one of those! Thanks. It looks sweet!

Paint, I use krylon spray paint about $3.00 a can from wally world.
Mounting: I mount the T-rex chassis on the retract plate as seen in the pics. You can probably make a set of retracts for less than $30.00. All the landing gear retracts to the front on the 222 and airwolf, dont mind the front gear direction in the pics. I do include measurements and diagram of retracts with the kit. If I did a complete kit including retracts, it would almost if not double the price of just the kit.

The Airwolf I bought from heli direct comes completely painted in scale scheme, including exhaust. All the retracts are included and installed for you. The body takes about 1 hour to completely install and setup servo for retract. You will need to buy nothing but the heli body. It says back order but the sell fast and he restocks within a few weeks. Well worth the wait.

Darthdrk,on your jetranger does it come with lots of pics to show how to mount to the trex.I like that one,but the huey looks very good to an old huey mechanic.
thanks ffdq

Any plans to do a blackhawk body? No retracts needed!

The Jet Ranger body mounts very easy. Actually its the easiest of them all. It basically clamshells over the frame . I fly mine without any support rods to stabilize the fuselage. The only thing you may need to do is trim for control linkages on the swashplate.
Blackhawk body is almost done but it will require an elevated tail rotor.

Hey Darthdrk. I just bought the 500E from helidirect and was wondering how you make the scale landing gear?

I use the REVO CP landing gear struts which are available from Hobby-lobby. They pretty much do the trick. Heres a couple of pics
I had to cut the skid holder at the bottom so the would spread open to accept the align skids.

The 500E is made from PTEG which is clear correct? If so, should I paint it from the inside like a r/c car body using r/c car paints?
